2020 General Election – Notice & Sample Ballot now available

Notice of General Election

Notice is hereby given that there will be a General Election in O’Brien County, Iowa at the following polling places in each of the seven voting precincts of said county on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.

The polls will open at all voting precincts as listed below at 7:00 a.m. and will close at 9:00 p.m. as provided by law.  Please note the change of polling places!

Precinct 1    Carroll & Floyd Townships (including the City of Archer) will vote at the Crossroads Pavilion – 301 34th Avenue, Sheldon.

Precinct 2     Franklin Township (including the City of Sanborn) will vote at the Sanborn Community Bldg., 225 Main St. Sanborn.

Precinct 3     Hartley, Lincoln & Omega Townships (including the City of Hartley) will vote at the Hartley Community Bldg. 820 2nd St. NE Hartley

Precinct 4      Wards 1, 2 and 3 of the City of Sheldon will vote at the Crossroads Pavilion – 301 34th Avenue, Sheldon.

Precinct 5     Summit, Center, Dale & Highland Townships (including the City of Primghar)  will vote at the Primghar  Community Bldg. 215 1st St. SE Primghar

Precinct 6     Union, Baker & Caledonia Townships (including the City of Paullina) will vote at Paullina City Hall 127 S Main St. Paullina

Precinct 7     Waterman, Grant & Liberty Townships (including the Cities of Calumet & Sutherland) will vote at the RL Johannsen Center 110 Ash St. Sutherland

VOTER REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Pre-registration for this election closes at 5:00 pm, Saturday, October 24, 2020.  To meet the pre-registration deadline, mailed forms must be received by October 24, 2020 or have been postmarked by October 19, 2020.  Persons wishing to participate in this election who register to vote in O’Brien County after October 24, 2020, will be REQUIRED to provide proof of identification (i.e. current and valid photo identification card with an expiration date), AND proof of residency in the voting precinct, when they go to the polls on election day.  Voters must vote in their precinct of residence.
